I have to say, this kitchen stuff is making me crazy!
I'm sitting here while Brooke naps, awaiting the arrival of my Mother-in-Law, thinking about how absolutely disgusting my house is! I know that we're in the middle of a major remodel, but I can't stand a messy house!
It's really not that bad, but I'm SO SICK of having dusty feet from walking in my kitchen or dining room! And I'm SO SICK of tripping over molding and trim when I walk to my laundry room!
I keep reminding myself that it's almost done... In fact, this time next week, we should be finished! Whew...
I know it's been a while since I've posted, so this might be a hodge-podge of stuff...but I want to share kitchen pictures and also a few shots of our princess!
Here it goes...please keep in mind that it isn't DONE yet...
These pictures are of Faith sanding down the existing cabinets (which took almost 3 hours! and is what is responsible for the dust that is STILL floating around my house!)...then, the 2nd step in the distressing process is to paint everything black!
After everything was painted black and dry, the Steeple White went on in 2 coats... Check out my disastrous dining room during the whole process! Makes me want to rip my hair out!
From here, Zig and I put all of the doors, drawers, new knobs, handles, and hinges back on. This took two evenings...
After the cabinets were finished and put back together, things moved quickly! In a matter of days, we installed our new fridge, range hood, and cook top and counter top, which finally made it feel as if I had a functioning kitchen back! Although I was doing a great job creating suppers in the crock pot and microwave, it's great to have the option of the stove back! I'll skip all of the yucky-in-between details and show you what the kitchen looks like right now! Again, keep in mind that we aren't finished! We still have flooring, trim work, painting, decorating and installation of the oven TO DO! (I think I can, I think I can, I think I can...!!!)
We still have lots to do - and I'm obviously very anxious to get everything finished, but it won't be long...thank the good Lord!
I'm realizing that this post is extremely long, so I'll create a different one just for Beamer and her newest pictures...
Hope you enjoyed the kitchen update - also hope that you aren't judging me on my dirty house!
More to come really soon!
