NEWSFLASH!!!
BROOKE HAS A TOOTH!
Within the past few days, our little brat has cut the very first clear, jaggy tooth through those gums!
I've been checking every day over the last few weeks since we've been seeing the signs of teething - gallons of slobber, chewing on everything, and trouble eating - but I haven't been feeling much...
Until Tuesday night! Dr. Sheilah had asked us if she had any teeth yet and we answered "No."
Brooke and I were playing on the floor waiting for Daddy to come home from his meeting and I had just had the urge to check her gums - when I felt the sharp spot on her bottom gums - I immediately picked her up, laid her on the chair under the light, and started digging around! It's quite difficult to get around that slimy, wiggly tongue, but I eventually spotted the clear, jaggy tooth and screamed in excitement!
Zig came in the door as I was examining his daughter and was also very pumped to hear that his baby girl just keeps on growing up!
Our first tooth!
WAY cool, folks!
Also - We're anxiously awaiting a phone call from Stacie as they're finding out the gender of the little peanut! Can't wait to find out if we're expecting an "Anna Kay" or a "Luke!" YAY!
More soon!

6 Month Appointment
I'm a day late - but I wanted to be sure and update the world about our sixth-month sassy girl!
We packed up for the doctor's yesterday afternoon with Daddy!
Long story - short :
Brooke weighs 17 pounds, 2 ounces and measures 25 1/4 inches long! She gained exactly 2 pounds and grew exactly 1 inch in one month! (we were there on Feb. 17 for her RSV visit!)
Dr. Sheilah checked our girl out very thoroughly and really seemed to enjoy watching her sit up, play with her toys, and squeal and laugh! At one point, the nurses opened the door to our room so that they could listen to her extremely contagious giggle!
My favorite part about our doctor is that she honestly takes the time to listen to my concerns as a Mother. She answers all of our questions - no matter how crazy - and really wants us to feel confident as parents. She has taught me to trust my instincts and to RELAX! She assured me that I have a healthy, growing, beautiful daughter and that WE did that... Apparently, we're doing a bang-up job... It certainly doesn't hurt to hear that from your doctor!
Although Brooke doesn't particularly enjoy the shots, she handles them quite well! After 10 seconds of blood-curdling screams, she was giggling at her funny Daddy and ready to play again! I wish that would have been her temperament for the rest of the afternoon! She decided to scream for a few hours after we got home and start her own eating strike! She had zero food from 11:30 am until 6:00 pm! This child... I'm telling you!
After she slept off the shots and finally had some supper, Brooke was in much better spirits, so Mommy, Daddy, and baby joined Brandon, Amanda and the kids for an evening Burnham walk! Not much in this world beats a beautiful evening to walk while pushing your gorgeous child in a stroller! It seemed that everyone in the town was out walking so we were able to visit with some firehouse folk and other walkers! So fun! I think the fresh air did us all a world of good!
A few things to look forward to:
~Another walk with Daddy tonight!
~Stacie and Noah find out the gender of baby Miller tomorrow! YAY!
~Big Richard family party at Pap and Nana's this weekend for Great-Grandma Shirley!
~Aunt Meg and Josh will be coming to visit on Saturday!
Life is good! Hoping for warm weather wherever YOU are!
Enjoy a few pictures!
(I have some adorable St. Patty's Day outfit pictures to post...soon!)

Walkin' Fools!
What a beautiful weekend!
Even though I've had a hard time welcoming the warm weather, (knowing that my time off is quickly dwindling away!) I very much enjoyed the spring-like days we've had lately!
Brooke and I have been walkin' fools!
As soon as that sun began to shine on Thursday afternoon, I knew we had to get outside! As soon as she finished her milk and apple sauce, we were in the stroller and on our way through the Burnham avenues! There is nothing like talking a walk to clear your mind and get a fresh start on your day...even in the middle of the afternoon!
Friday AND Saturday were a special treat as Amanda and the kids joined us on our walk! Amanda and I have always been walking partners since we've lived so close to each other! We have a special route that we take and I have to say, it seemed a lot easier before kids! Haven't I heard somewhere that pushing a stroller burns thousands more calories that walking alone?? That's fantastic! Especially for Amanda who pushes a SERIOUS two-seater with Halle and Max!
The kids really seem to enjoy the walk - although Brooke had a little tantrum on the way home from Saturday's walk! I'll tell you - I'm getting used to her screams...they don't bother me as much as they used to... But when she's screaming bloody-murder all the way from Amanda's to home, those 2 avenues seem like 200 miles! I don't know what her problem was! She continued to scream for about an hour after we got home until she finally fell asleep! Now I'm a little gun-shy about putting her back in the stroller. Hopefully, during these next few rainy days, she'll forget about her trauma and be a happy stroller-rider by the end of the week!
Also this weekend, we enjoyed a wonderful evening at our friends John and Sara's house! Big John is a great friend of Zig's, and he and his wife Sara bought a beautiful house that they love to use for entertaining. The summer-like weather on Saturday brought us all together on their deck and MAN, did we have fun!!
I get a little nervous about taking Brooke out in the evenings - because I'm so headstrong on her being in a routine. She's still a terrible sleeper at night, so we try to do everything we can to keep things regular. I have to say, though, she was a trooper! We packed her up with lots of gear to spend the evening in the cool fresh air, and she loved it! Brandon and Amanda came with the kids, so she enjoyed watching them play. She took a nap, had her milk, entertained the crowd once we went inside, then came home for a quick tub and bed.
I had to take a big deep breath once we got home because she really did well - I don't give her enough credit!
Does it make sense for me to say that I feel like a better Mom when I get her out of the house - and people enjoy her - and she behaves??
Then, Sunday afternoon, we traveled with Great-Grammy Joyce all the way to Harrisburg to meet Great-Aunt Kim and Grammy Kathy for an afternoon together to celebrate Grammy's birthday!
We started out at Babies-R-Us...YAY! Zig and I were looking for a bigger tub for Brooke. She can still fit in her infant tub, but she's getting so big that I want her to be able to sit up and stretch out a little more to play. We found a great tub that is for 6-36 month kids and it has lots of space - perfect! We also came home with a new pile of spring and summer clothes, new bottle nipples, binkies, a few pair of shoes for her Easter dress and spring outfits, and my personal favorite - a big that Zig picked out... It's says, "My Mom is hotter than your Mom!" Zig threw it in the cart without me seeing it - imagine my surprise!
I think Grammy especially liked this shopping trip since she pushed Brooke in the cart, talked to her the whole time, and even was asked if she belonged to her! I guess that was a great comment for her to get right before another birthday! Lookin' good, Grammy Kathy!
After a wonderful supper at the Texas Roadhouse, we were on our way home! Brooke got 2 great naps as she slept the whole way there and back.
We enjoyed a quiet evening at home - milk and carrots for supper, tub, cereal and milk, and bed!
I'm happy to report that Brooke was only awake ONCE last night - wide awake at 2:00am. I tried just rocking her back to sleep instead of trying to feed her - and she went right back down and is still sleeping this morning... (It's 8:37!) HOORAY!!
We don't have a lot planned for this week...
Nana is coming over this morning to share her purchases that she made for Brooke at the Hershey Outlets over the weekend, so I'm looking forward to a fashion show for Brooke very soon!
I have a baby shower to go to this coming Saturday that I'm very excited for...lots of teacher friends together for the day! What could be better?
That should be about it - hopefully more walking is in my future for the week...and just some good old quality time with my amazing family...
What did we ever do before Brooke came?
Be back soon! (With pictures!)

Kitchen Update!!!
I've hinted at the fact that it was ALL DONE in my previous posts, but I know that there are a few wondering minds that have been itching to see these pictures! (Especially the girls at my Dad's office! HI LADIES!!)
We're so proud to say that the kitchen is complete!
I had to make one last trip to Yoder's (my fave country store - the one whose lights I keep on every month! HA!) in order to find my new window valance and my last few springy things to get this house in order!
I told myself that as soon as the kitchen was finished and everything was cleaned up, I would transition from my winter decor to my spring decor! I love it! I was so sick of looking snowmen! Even though I don't want to rush this year into passing by, I'm definitely ready to see Spring arrive!
Today was a gorgeous day in Burnham! After lunch, Brooke and I took a wonderful walk!
I honestly think that, once the weather gets nicer all the time, I'll be in much better spirits all the time! The fresh air does us both a lot of good - and I certainly could use the exercise!
That's all for today!
I have tons of new pictures of Brooke to post soon - I'll do that as soon as I can!
Hope you all got to enjoy the beautiful weather - if not, more sunshine to come this weekend! Get out and soak up the sun!
Have a great weekend!

As Promised...
We were waiting for Pap and Nana to arrive in State College so that we could get them back home - my Dad threw out his back and couldn't drive...long, LONG story!
That's all for today -
We're getting ready to head out to the big city of McVeytown for lunch with Leah and Caleb - can't wait to see them!
Hopefully, you'll hear from me again soon!
P.S.
My sister looks HOT with short hair! Don't let her fool you!
P.P.S.
I still hate the Bachelor!
