The BIG Bump...

With the gorgeous weather we've been having lately, I almost want to start my blog off by saying "Happy Fall, Ya'll," but unfortunately, there's still a little bit of summer left to be had before we are truly ready for the leaves to change, the beginning of hunting season, and Penn State football to consume our lives!

While I wait patiently through the last weeks of this pregnancy, it's very strange to think that I am NOT going to be heading back to school at the end of the month! All of my teacher friends are making preparations and finishing off their summers with a bang, while I'm still here...waiting...for this baby to come! This will be the first fall season since - oh, preschool! - that I won't be in school in the fall - and no matter how much I'm going to love the extra vacation, it's going to be awfully strange to be at home on a September/October/November/December day, while I'm used to being in school!
The waiting game continues in the Wray household!
I'm noticing that every day tasks are becoming more and more difficult - shaving my legs, getting dressed in the mornings, running the sweeper, getting up and down from the sitting or laying position - I find myself out of breath and exhausted after a few minutes of movement. I can't say that's a good thing, especially when it comes to staying active as to not gain too much more weight...but I know that the inconveniences of the body are very normal right now.
God love Zig - he is getting used to helping me out of my chair, up from the floor, or hearing me grunt and sigh when getting around...it's quite comical, actually!

We are officially in week 34 of this venture! So when people ask me "How much longer do you have?" or "When are you due?" I can simply respond with "Six weeks - or fewer, if I have anything to do with it!" It seems strange to think that in six weeks time, she'll be here! All of this waiting, complaining, and misery will be over, and Zig and I will have a beautiful little girl to hold! Pretty cool...

We see Doctor Grill on Thursday of this week, so I'm looking forward to that. Maybe I'll get lucky and he'll check me early and see if anything is happening in there. I've had a few contractions that were enough to scare me, but other than that, everything is still pretty much the same.

The picture that I've included has been a long time coming - the last belly picture we took was when I was 16 weeks along! After I got dressed this morning, I told Zig that I probably shouldn't wear these bright colors right now - people will think a school bus or Big Bird is coming right at them, but oh well...right now, it's cool to be fat!

I can tell that Brooke is getting bigger! I woke up on Friday morning to a different belly button than I had had the day before...it's almost popped, but still completely flat! I thought I was going to get away without having the popper sticking out of my stomach, but I think it might happen after all. Zig jokes and says that it just means that "I'm done!" Like a timer on a Thanksgiving Turkey...ha ha...

I'll be sure to update after our appointment on Thursday morning, then it's off to Milton for the weekend to be with MY MAN! Rumor has it - he's a big boy now! Sleeping in a toddler bed and everything! That will make life much easier for Aunt Libby, since her belly gets in the way of laying him down in the crib!

Lots to look forward to these days - stay tuned!
