More like me than I'd hoped...

Knowing that Sunday would be our LAST peek at Brooke at Womb With a View, I had prepared myself for the wonderful pictures we would have of our little angel when it was all said and done!
BOY was I ever wrong!

This little girl is turning out to be more like me than I had hoped - I think I referred to her as a 'brat' a few times throughout the day! That's awful, I know...

Imagine this - take your hand and place it a foot from your face. Now, spread out your fingers and place your palm directly on your nose. THAT is exactly what we saw of Brooke! Her hands, arms, and even her legs were in front of her face the entire time! Nothing we did made her willing to move - not even a large lunch finished with a MT. DEW shook her up!

We did get to see some of her facial features, as well as her hands, arms, legs, and feet - and the coolest part was watching her suck on her fingers and thumb - a little scary to a former 'thumb sucker!' We'll squash that habit when she's born!

It's not that I was disappointed...just bummed that we wouldn't have these perfect 3D shots of her little face to compare to the real thing. It figures - me, the planner, who likes to have everything set and ready to go (including knowing what my daughter looks like) wouldn't be able to get any really good sneak peeks until her actual birth! I guess this is God's way of telling us that SOME things must remain a beautiful surprise!

We left there with a DVD of the recordings of all 3 ultrasounds and a CD with all of the pictures that were captured from the very beginning! I spent yesterday afternoon at Walmart copying pictures for Brooke's album and extra copies for Nana and Grammy's brag books!

I'm extremely happy that we were given the opportunity to get a peek at our baby before she makes her arrival - and like Meg said, at least she cooperated on the day that it mattered most - the day we found out she was a girl! We know she's beautiful and we know she's ours...it doesn't get much better than that!

After leaving Womb With a View for the last time, Nana, Zig and I made a quick trip to Babies R Us to grab the Pack N Play, the extra car seat bases, a few packs of onsies, and 2 adorable outfits!

Since then, we've been unpacking all of the goodies leftover from the shower, putting baby things together, and continuing to wait for Brooke to get here...

I honestly feel like September will NEVER come - and I'm more ready to be DONE than I had ever thought!
I've loved being pregnant, and maybe I would feel differently if we going through any season but summer right now - but I am SO READY to be done! I just want her here...I want to hold her and talk to her and tell her all of the plans that we've made for her life!

I guess the biggest lesson in this whole process has been patience. Anyone (especially my husband) would tell you that I don't have any patience at all...and this pregnancy has been a huge challenge for me. No matter how much longer I have to wait, I know that we'll have a beautiful baby at the end of all of this - which makes everything totally worth it!

We see Dr. Grill on Thursday morning. I have lots of questions ready for him about childbirth classes, registration at the hospital, and appointments from here until the end. We should be on an 'every two week' schedule from now on, which is exciting! I'll be sure to post updates near the end of the week!

I'm looking forward to Meg and Joshua coming home again this weekend for the Richard Reunion! It's supposed to be hot - which makes for a cranky Libby, but we'll do our best to stay cool and keep Joshua occupied for the weekend!

Until next time...enjoy a few new pics of our little brat...I mean beautiful daughter!
(Don't be alarmed by how strange and creepy she looks - all of the dark spots in front of her face are either the umbilical cord casting a shadow or her hands over her eyes - and her mouth is open a bit as well...I guess she's a little monster-like, but Zig is her father afterall!)
