I just have to ask...
HOW did THIS happen???
What a way to start today's post, huh!!??
I continue to be in shock over the sheer growth of this little girl! She is seriously SO BIG and I can't believe how fast this 'growing up' stuff is happening!
It seems that, suddenly, Brooke has taken off - in more ways that one!
She has really been working hard at crawling! As you can see from the picture below, she gets from her butt to her hands and knees, but only rocks back and forth! She reaches out for things that I place conveniently out of reach, but eventually she just gives up and falls to her belly... It won't be long, though! We'll soon have a crawler!
Well, I'm beginning to see that wack of a husband in our daughter! She's a ham! It's so hard to explain in words - so you'll just have to spend some time with her to really see her little personality! She's a true performer! Maybe a future in acting?? Who knows!
There aren't nearly enough pictures of me and my girl together - so I love these!
Last night, we had a great visit with Uncle Scub, Aunt Stephanie and cousins Zoe and Marlee!
I never knew how much I would love seeing Brooke interact with other kids - especially family! She just sits back and watches - she checks everyone out! She watched and Zoe and Marlee enjoyed her toys and never got jealous - she already knows how to share!
The title of this post?
This is officially post #100!
I remember when my sister's blog hit 100...and here we are! Way cool!
And 1 year ago...
It was on this day, May 4, 2008 that we found out a LITTLE GIRL was on her way!
We had a whirl-wind of a day in Harrisburg, at our gender ultrasound at "Womb With A View," followed by trip to Babies R Us to buy lots of pink and purple, AND pick out the nursery furniture! Then, a wonderful supper at Red Lobster with Nana, Grammy Kathy and John to celebrate our precious bundle of pink, who we already knew as Brookie! (Or Beam!)
Unfortunately, May 4 also began the worst week of Zig's life. It was his last week with his Dad who was losing his battle with Pancreatic Cancer.
On the day we found out Brooke was a girl, we hurried through those events listed above to get home to Shanty who had gone to the hospital. From that night until the very end, Zig spent every day and every night by his Dad's side.
I'm sure we'll spend lots of time this week remembering Zig's Dad. And wishing that he could be here to enjoy these precious girls who call him Pappy.
So -
We'll go on enjoying our baby girl - and remain thankful for every day we have with her! Even if she's just like her Daddy!
P.S.
Zig is healing very well! His chain saw wounds are almost healed and we've almost forgotten about the tree accident...proof that he would make a very bad monkey!
Happy rainy days, everyone!
